Waterproof Splice kit for water meter cables. Splice AMR, AMI, and Touch read antenna and MIU cables in underground meter boxes and vaults. For 3 wire encoder based transmitters and antennas, or 2 wire touch read modules. 

Includes:

• Silicone gel filled splice tube with clip top (1)
• 3M UY2 Gel wire connector crimps for 26 to 19 AWG wire (3)
• Zip Tie for strain relief (1)

How to use:

1. Strip about 1-1-/4" of sheath off of cable to expose wires Typical wire colors for metering are Red, Green, and Black. DO NOT STRIP wire coating. If there are more wires in the cable than needed, you can cut them at the sheath, or wrap them out of the way.
   
   
2. Push two of same color wire into UY2 connector as far as they will go in. Crimp the UY2 connector with Parallel Jaw pliers (available in our other listings). Repeat for all of 3 (or 2) wires.
   
   
3. Verify that all wires are secured by the internal clip and extend the end of the UY2 connector. Repeat for all wires to be spliced. 
   
   
4. Zip tie both cables together near the ends of the sheath as a strain relief. 
   
   
5. Tighten the bundle of UY3 connectors and push into the splice tube gel as far as they can go.
   
   
6. Close and lock the end cap on the splice tube. Your waterproof splice is complete.
